Independent Practice

I am really happy with how this project has turned out it has finally shown me the path which I want to carry on with. I learnt a lot more about looking at lighting and actually working on my own technique.

second set of final images

I really like these images as they are so soft looking and studying artistic nude images I think paid off. These images as a set go really well together the only thing I would liked to try out with both sets of images was maybe try the white background but I think the grey background gave it more of an artistic felling.

Final Images

I am so happy with way that these images have turned out, I’m using them in a tryptic style 2 sets of 3 images so here is the butterfly set. I really like the way that the make up artist has made the models eyes into butterfly’s, I think this set of images will work really well as an art piece on walls. The lighting had taken me a few goes to get right and I think I got the best result in the end I find that these images are far more better than the other shoot I really enjoyed and relaxed a lot more on this shoot.

Back home from the shoot and I’m really happy with the way it went even though yet again I didn’t like using the digital back as it made me feel like  couldn’t control the camera oh well the Cannon Mark 2 was brilliant. the lighting after a few trials and errors I finally got the lighting to the way I wanted it to look and the grey background really gave the images some texture, Images soon to follow.

photoshoot day

So today I have 2 photos shoots one in the morning and one in the afternoon I’m really nervous as my assistant that I always ask to help isn’t able to make it as she has a lot of work to do as well, hopefully from working with her the last couple of weeks I will be able to get the lighting I want.

getting the lighting right

so here are the images of trying to get the lighting right on the models face and a picture of the set up of the lighting. as you can see it had taken a few times to get the lighting to the right adjustment but once I did the images came out really well.

Study group session

had a study group session today and showed some of my work to the girls and the agree with me to only use my recent 2 shoots as they are much more attractive images and Chole suggested that it would be really interesting in seeing them in triptych style which I thought was brilliant 2 sets of triptych images so now its time to actually figure out which ones I want in the set which is proving difficult as there is a few that I really like from these last to shoots.

Alexandr Senchuck

Alexandr Senchuck is a bodypainter and digital artist there isn’t much information on him I found a website on the make up show link http://www.themakeupshow.com/the-makeup-show-blog/ I really like the style he uses its a bit more over the top than I want to go with my work for the moment but I find the make up and the image as one a really interesting concept.

I looked back at my shoot from the other day and decided that even though the images are good there are not up to scratch for my liking. So this week I’m going to be working so much harder to get this shoot to work and get amazing images that are better looking and a more creative concept the next 2 shoots are based on avant garde one of which will contain a butterfly theme which will have some blood on the model where the butterfly’s have fallen and the other flower based theme with petals falling onto the back. Lighting is going to be so much of a key this week that I have started looking at the way people light artistic nudes and speaking to another student who I know has done this kind of lighting and spoke to Chloe a lot about the idea. I decided from looking at the artistic nudes and some of Titus Powell’s work and Theodoor Thomas who is a photographer that I found on Blogger. Here are some of the images I have been looking at, and trying to figure out the lighting that the photographers used.

This is Theodoor Thomas’s work this is the image that I really like the lighting of I can tell there is a main light onto the front maybe a beauty dish or snoot? and then a soft box at the side just to enhance the curves and to lighten up the back.

this image is by Kararzyna Karina the lighting on this image is really soft I think there is only one light which I think is a softbox bringing in the main source of light I really like the pose on this image as well I think the image has been manipulated to add the birds onto the skin which I looks nice but even if the birds weren’t there its would be a great shot I think the red background has a really nice effect.

Image is by Noblin who I found on Deviant art I like the image as the back isn’t fully lit which gives the image texture to the back I think its a lightbox that he has used just to light up part of the back and give it softness.

this is by photographer IM SirReal I really like the fact that this image is in colour and not black and white  I think there is 2 light sources lighting both sides of the model but a stronger light on the right I thinks its 2 soft boxes I’m not to sure but there might be a third light to bring out the back abit more but im not 100% sure.

Looking at the images I have here I really like the grey background and try to get a more softer feel to the images to my next shoot will hopefully give it more textured feeling.

Emma Hack

I found body artist Emma Hack looking through one of the interior designs magazines I got with one of my Sunday news papers, she for one of her projects she used wallpaper and paints a model in the exact way the wallpaper is so the model is hidden. I find this concept so fascinating as there must have taken hours to get this correct with both painting and lighting its just a perfect concept.
